I wanted to show off a couple of finished sewing projects I worked on last month starting with McCall's 9676 pattern from 1969 using vintage fabric from the late 70s.
And, a dress I completed from this stack of fabrics...

I had a similar fabric in black with tropical floral print, but sold it in my Artfire studio. |

I LOVE them!! But especially the McCall's 9676! Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy, both outfits are fun to wear. I can't wait to see that dress your making, those buttons will really set it off nice. Victoria
DeleteI love the idea of running the boarder print down the side of the dress, I wouldn't have thought of that!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the orange dress! How clever to run the boarder down the side!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work Victoria! It all looks so fun, and I am sooo envious that I have not been able to do much at home here for a while. Waiting patiently to go shopping, and making of things again too:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us, and have a wonderful day!:)

Thanks Kim! I love reading your blog and all the tips you offer from running an online shop to blogging. It sometimes seems to easy to get away from the hands on creativity because of our busy lives, I believe creating, either writing, making or serving (as in helping others) is so important for a persons well being and I really enjoy reading about others experiences.
DeleteI have that same fabric in the turquoise and really wanted the red. I think I may have that same pattern, too. I managed to get all of my mom's patterns when she died and she never got rid of any of them. They are fun to look through.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, I have used the orange, two of the blues and a purple. I am working on the third dress. Let me know if you are interested in the red, I think I have three yards, I would be more than happy to send it to you. I am going to start working with different fabric, so this fabric will just be sitting around for a rainy day, and I have other things planned for those days.
DeleteI really really wish I could sew! I have a machine..but alas, I am all thumbs! love the orange floral...so cute..would look great paired with aqua shoes and accessories!
ReplyDeleteSewing is so much fun, but I know it is not for everyone,. It's like riding a horse, some people just love to do that and well others (me for instance) have only done it once or twice and that's fine. I love my orange dress and love wearing it, I agree it would look great with aqua shoes, now to fine me a pair ;).
